Most snow in Northeast and canada since 1970
Since record books have been kept, Ottawa has never received more snow than this month.

This December has seen record snowfall, but experts say what we need is record cold.
Meteorologists say a total of 111.4 centimetres has fallen so far this winter. The last time Ottawans saw snow like this was back in 1970.

Snowfall approaches December record, major contrast to last year

BOSTON—Last winter's paltry snowfall total began accumulating closer to Valentine's Day than Christmas. But this December has reintroduced early snow to the Massachusetts winter.

Boston will tie December's snowfall record of 27.9 inches if it can squeeze one more inch out of a soggy mix expected on Thursday evening.
It might be the last chance to break the record, set in 1970, as forecasters are calling for warmer weather to close out the year. Even if Boston falls short, snow lovers around the state are welcoming the snowfall that has given a boost to ski areas and other snow-related business.
Mt. Wachusett Ski Area in Princeton is 75 percent ahead of its five year average for skier visits, said Tom Meyers, the mountain's director of marketing. Even though the ski area can make sufficient snow if it doesn't fall naturally, people are more likely to come if they see snow in their backyard, he said.

I wonder what ALGORE would think of all of this.
